Winter Event

First Press Fine Wine Dinner and Auction, now in its twelfth year, First Press is the Southwest's premier celebration of fine wines and luxurious dining. The First Press evening is a delectable dining experience featuring a gourmet dinner prepared specifically by the Montelucia's Executive Chef, Michael Cairns and paired with the finest wines from Napa Valley and Sonoma, and featuring hand selected Arizona vineyards, too. The evening highlights include silent and live auctions of fine and collectible wines donated by vineyards, and private cellars. The live auction is emceed by Fritz Hatton, International Wine Auctioneer and Owner of Arietta Winery. Vintners from distinguished wineries will host company and individually sponsored VIP tables, serving their wines to their guests.

KJZZ Travel and Discovery Expo
Phoenix Convention Center
May 3 & 4, 2014

The KJZZ Travel and Discovery Expo is positioned to become the leading consumer travel show in Arizona. Travel professionals will show case tourism experiences to an educated, affluent audience interested in leisure travel, arts, culture and events.

This two day expo will feature representatives from every segment of the travel industry from Arizona, the Southwest and around the world. Attendees will learn about new and exciting destinations ranging from budget vacations to luxury escapes as well as adventure opportunities such as rafting, fishing, horseback riding, jeep tours, paddle boats, helicopter, hot air balloons, museums, parks and railroads.

Spring Lunch-In

KJZZ introduces the Korva Coleman Community Champion Awards Luncheon in April 2013. We welcome Korva Coleman as our honored guest at this inaugural event, which celebrates the field of journalism, and its outstanding correspondents. Coleman, a local Maryvale High School graduate, is a newscaster for National Public Radio (NPR). She is credited for her role in national newscasts such as: All Things Considered, Morning Edition and Weekend Edition. Three individuals will be recognized in the areas of Community Champion, accomplished Professional Young Journalist and promising Student Journalist. Detailed information regarding date and location are forthcoming.

Pledge Drives

The single largest source of support comes from individual listeners through the fundraising program for KJZZ 91.5 and KBAQ 89.5 are the on-air pledge drives which raise operational support for the stations.
