KJZZ's youth media center SPOT 127 recently announced it would be opening a second location in Tempe at the Rio Salado College East Valley location. SPOT 127 East will build upon the successful model of its first location in the Maryvale neighborhood of Phoenix. SPOT 127's mission is to empower students to find their voice and engage in their communities through digital photography, audio and video production and editing. SPOT 127 students have access to cutting-edge technology and tools to produce media content, and they receive instruction from professionally trained instructors and mentors. The East Valley location will feature a dedicated video studio space so that students can gain experience in live video production and editing.

SPOT 127 East will open its doors to students in September 2016. Applications and more information can be found at spot127.org.
