FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 23, 2025

PHOENIX, AZ — Friends of Public Radio Arizona (FPRAZ) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of two extraordinary members of our board community, Suzanne Pfister and Libby Goff. Their leadership, dedication, and compassion have left an indelible mark on our organization and the broader Arizona community.

Suzanne Pfister

Suzanne Pfister, a long-standing advocate for public service, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Suzanne joined the FPRAZ Board in 2014, serving as Secretary before stepping into the role of Board Chair from 2018 to 2020. In 2023, she was named an Emeritus Board Member in recognition of her lasting contributions and visionary leadership.

Suzanne played a pivotal role in shaping the board’s structure and strategic direction. Through her extensive network and deep commitment to community engagement, she organized quarterly meetings that brought together KJZZ reporters and marketing professionals for meaningful discussions on health care reporting. Her passion for photography also brought joy to the organization, particularly through the annual travel calendars she generously created and shared.

Outside of FPRAZ, Suzanne served as President and CEO of the Vitalyst Health Foundation, where her legacy continues to inspire. More about her impactful career can be found on the Vitalyst Health Foundation website.

Libby Goff

Just days earlier, we were heartbroken to learn of the tragic loss of Libby Goff, who passed away in an accident on Monday, July 16, 2025. Libby served on the FPRAZ Board for six years, holding the role of Secretary and chairing the Finance Committee. She also contributed her financial acumen and thoughtful leadership to the Investment Committee.

Libby was a key figure in forming FPRAZ’s partnership with the Arizona Humane Society and was a passionate supporter of the Hear Arizona initiative. Her steadfast dedication and kind spirit made a lasting impact on all who worked with her.

“Suzanne and Libby gave so much of themselves to the mission of Friends of Public Radio Arizona,” said Linda Pastori, Executive Director of FPRAZ. “Their wisdom, generosity, and passion for public service enriched our organization and our lives. Their legacies will be remembered and honored for years to come.”

We extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, friends, and all who were touched by their remarkable lives.
